About I Love Markets

It's simple! I Love Markets bridges the gap between markets and the online world and aims to keep markets relevant and accessible, whilst promoting their buzz to a worldwide audience. We are proud of London's markets and we think you can find some of the best markest in the world here. I Love Markets was born from a passion for markets and all things that can be found within them.

Why do we love markets?

I Love Markets was founded by Katie Ingham. Her love affair with markets started as a bit of a love-hate one. Although she despised being dragged around antiques markets as a child, at the age of seven I was buying and trading alongside my parents at antiques markets like Lee Valley, Alexander Palace and Greenwich Town Hall. A love for unique and beautiful things was developed at an early age and since then she has passionately visited markets across the world looking for that special rare find.

At 15 Katie was amazed and inspired by iconic markets like Camden and Portobello. The things you can see and buy, the people and the different cultures of markets and the areas surrounding them, was illuminating and it still is today. At this time she ran two stalls, a vintage clothing stall and an antiques stall at Camden Stables Market, in London. When she was able to get a casual pitch she also sold at Portobello Green and The Sunday Up Market, when it first opened at Brick Lane, Spitalfields in East London.

Today London's markets have never been better. There are vast amounts of choice and for every type of clientele. From local farmers markets like Broadway Market, to pop-up street markets like White Post Lane, to Vintage Fairs and then there's the most popular long standing markets like Camden, Portobello, Spitalifields and Greenwich. Markets attract huge amounts of visitors and tourists each week and are creative hubs for fashion, music, art, design and culture.

Shop Unique, Shop local, Shop Markets

The I Love Markets was born from a genuine desire to help promote markets and all the great things that can be found in them. Founder Katie Ingham (picture below right), lived in Hertfordshire at the time she discovered markets and always had a dream to bring market shopping to her, as it wasn't always possible to visit.
